Air America in Tampa Bay...

... I just saw something that mentioned that there'll be new Air America affiliates in Tampa Bay - on WTAN in Clearwater & WDCF in Dade City. Have Dave & Lola come to their senses and are going to take all of what AA has to offer, or will they pick and choose which shows to pick up while keeping the some of the horrible pay for play they're known for? Anyone inside that nut house willing to spill?

If WDCF changes format, there will be many unhappy Hispanics in the Dade City/Zephrhills area, as their format has been some type of Local operating agreement for the last year and they've been strictly Hispanic; the only Hispanic station that comes in well there. (92.5 is very iffy, from Dade City north- reception wise)

My guess is that if WTAN and WDCF do go the Air America route, they will pick and choose and not carry all the shows.

It won't matter to me, since I can barely get WTAN in the day (sometimes I can even hear the 1340 out of Sebring in the background) and cannot get 1340 at all at night due to all the clutter on that graveyard channel) and cannot get 1350 at all.

This is a joke. They would be better off with no affiliate, to wait for 1010 to come to its senses and realizes that it isn't even No. 3 in sports talk, much less No.2. Well maybe number two... ;)

Wagenvoord is like the kooky owner of the Santa Cruz station that recently dropped Air America. He'll pre-empt it all over the schedule for whatever crap he can broker. Unless they are paying for the time (which I doubt in the post-Chapter 11 world), you won't hear much of AA... not even Tampa's Lionel can outpay the mighty Deborah Ray. :D

Do any CBS stations run Air America? And what happened to WTAN running Music of your Wife? Lionel gets back on (sort of) in Tampa Bay..what a place!

Out of curiosity, I was listening (or trying to listen) to WTAN in downtown St. Petersburg yesterday afternoon, the reception is lousy, just barely listenable, but there wasn't a hint of music, except they did have a promotion for a "Music of Your Life" cruise they were promoting.

With WTAN, you can bet that any programming, whether it is music or Air America will take a back-seat to any brokered programming they can sell. As it is now, when they don't have a brokered program, then they will play the format de-jour, which this week is "Music of Your Life".

Next week, who know?!!
