Why aren't they any affiliates for air America in the Hudson Valley? 1600 in New York City has barely to no signal at all in Orange, Putnam, Northern Westchester, Dutchess, Ulster counties.

Not to rain on a parade here, but Off Air America is
A Non-Necessity as long as National Pathetic Radio
exists left of 92 F.M. I fear the Un-Fairness Doctrine
becoming a reality for all stations everywhere. We
need radio free from what TV forces upon us.

If he did, he might be aware that our new president is on the record as opposing the return of the Fairness Doctrine, and it cannot be reinstated without his approval. But facts never get in the way of the right wing--members of which always seem to believe that the cavalry is coming, that storm troopers are waiting outside to take their guns away, and of course, that the fairness doctrine is coming back.
Oh and one other thing--when progressive talk is on a decent signal and is surrounded by the same news, weather and traffic services heard on most conservative talk stations, it tends to do pretty well. The people who run stations such as KGO/San Francisco, KPOJ/Portland, KIRO/Seattle, and WCPT/Chicago can vounch for this, as can ARB. During the final winter book for Air America on New York's WLIB, Randi Rhodes topped Sean Hannity in 25-54 men--even though Sean was on a bigger signal, had substantially more outside promotion, and had his puss on Fox Noise five nights a week. Don't believe me? Check it out with Arbitron, and a little googling might help also.
Now, get back to your house trailers boys--Rush will be on soon and you need to get your daily talking points.

Sure, Jim, the previous poster makes an illogical argument without any basis in facts. You do mention some facts, for which you must be applauded. But you also do it with a tone that is similar to the previous poster. I think you position would be more believable to those on the fence if you were nice about it. If you'd just like to preach to your choir, like the previous poster, fine. But why don't you both go somewhere else. Myself, and I suspect others here, would prefer rational dialogue without name-calling and hysteria.

Studio5b, sure your two (?) posts had no name-calling, but your tone is the same as name-calling. Your lack of facts is the same as name calling. You are not attempting to have a reasoned debate with someone you don't agree with. You are just shouting, "LOOK HOW PROUD I AM OF MY OPINION! AND EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG!"

If you want to talk about "facts", today Limbaugh completely denied that there is a limited supply of oil and said that CO2 emited from cars has nothing to do with global warming. If that's what you consider facts, well enjoy but I think it's just laughable that anyone would consider anything that comes out of Limbaugh's mouth as fact. I listen occasionally when I'm in the car, its a great comedy show.

Air America is not offering a low of what most people want to hear, despite the beliefs of its owners, staff, and listeners. In radio, as with any other product, if there are insufficient numbers of customers, then said busines may not make a profit and remain solvent.
