The words in the letter are straight out of the on-line blog focus-group booklet. Within 2 sentences the writer uses the words "outraged", "appalled" and "ludicrous"- all about a format change at a little radio station. Then, of course, the "jackass" rhetorical question follows: "why has management gone off the deep end?" followed by another. I am not really certain what a "(BLEEP) station" is or how that word got into the Chattanoogan but they ought to have a word with their standards people.
I was hoping the word "pathetic" would be incorporated into the letter but it didn't make it. This letter was written from a recipe book. I am skeptical that the writer even listens to Nostalgia. It is an angry mean spirited letter- the type intended to stir up conservatives who don't want a liberal talk station around. God only knows why, as it looks like it would flop on that signal in this market and that would give them lots to write about in the future.
All that being said- the format on WDOD AM seems to be getting decent ratings and considering the market (#106) and I don't see a reason for the change.
