Air America on XM

Does anyone know how long the "contract" is for Air America to be on XM? It has been suggested on the AAR message boards it could be as short as a year and they might consider going back to Sirius! I would think that if it was for a year that there would at least be an option for more.

I hope they go back to Sirius, who needs them.

Air America drop The Morning Sedition?

To answer the second question, Morning Sedition was dropped at the end of last year. One of the Marks is on from 5 to 7 a.m. Eastern, and the other was moving to L.A., and there was talk of an evening show, which I suspect would replace the Franken rerun from 1 to 4 a.m. Pacific. That last is just speculation, however.
As for the AR contract, there'll always be speculation. No reason to assume that exculsivity has to reside with either service.

Why is it that anyone who disagrees with you people automatically "hate America" ? What ever happened to respecting others viewpoints, even if you dont happen to subscribe to them. On another note, I've recently heard promos for "America left" including mention of Jerry Springer,Al Franken, etc. wasnt that what the channel was called before they landed Air America ? wonder why they'd be using that name for it sometimes.

It is a horrible tactic and had nothing to do with the original post.

Because whoever does the imaging for that channel is clueless.

They've never gotten the ID's right on that channel.<P ID="signature">______________

Because their's a few people that use these boards to promote their agenda with certain programs, stations, music genres, or formats. It's not posted primarily to discuss formatics or programming, it's posted to lure us in to listening so our political beliefs becomes yours.
I don't see Pat Robertson, Rush Limbaugh, etc. or conservative stations promoted on this board. Yes they get occasionally mentioned as a program, or in negativity, but not in promotion.
Yes you'll say all AM talk stations are practically all right wing, or conservative, and that's because the left drove them all down there, when they hi-jacked the newspapers, cable channels, news at 11, etc.
Well the conservatives saved AM because the left thought no one would go down there because the medium(AM)was becoming outdated. Wrong. Corporations had no choice but to program conservative, because that's the only thing that works if they want to stay profitable on the air, especially what they invested into acquiring 5 AM's in one market. Everytime they tried left (local or syndicate) it failed. They can't afford to get away losing money with AM, like they could with cable, or network television. When I see this board more balanced, I won't complain.

Find me one liberal on cable news, other than Rachel Maddow.

Find me one liberal on network news.

Back up your words.<P ID="signature">______________

How many months have you done in Iraq? How many years in service to your country? Yup, more than 21 years in service and time in Iraq. But I hate America. ;)

21 years? I respect that. But let me ask you a question. Why would you support a party or station's talk format of a party that hates your guts. That has tried to downgrade the military into pacifist. Fight a war with your hands tied behind your back. What's your motto....support us troops as long as were not winning? That's the problem. Support the station that sleeps with the enemy.

Chris Mathews, Larry King, Alan Colmes, (even though he shares it with Hannity), Network News ABC, CBS, NBC, C-Span 1 2& 3, the whole entire staff of CNN, MSNBC, the whole local news in most major cities, (I don't live in all of them,)
Ever here of Hollywood? I'm sure you bought your tickets tonight for Brokeback Mountain. Daytime TV talk shows. They relate to tolerance or tolerance of freaks and sleaze.
Even the whole coffee industry where you probably hang out at...Starbuck's.
Editorialists in practically every newspaper. Yes there's Fox which is MOR. I'm sure alot of you think their just "Adult Contemporary". ( Pardon me...I'm still trying to keep this issue radio compliant)
I think I named enough on my $8.00 keyboard. Now it's your turn. Don't mention anyone on AM. It's been done. I

You really need to do more research beyond Rush Limbaugh. I hold a degree in political science and politics is a hobby of mine. I have switched been parties throughout my adult life and can sincerely tell you that neither party holds all of the answers or are completely truthful.

Rush, Boortz, Hannity, Colmes, ... never tell you the whole story ON ANYTHING. They are there to sell time, period. I am not criticizing them, they do entertain me. Talk (not news-radio) radio is for having fun. It substitutes a pop record with a "caller".

Please take time and read every source you can get a hold of. Read both sides of an issue. Come up with your own conclusion. Good Luck and stand strong.<P ID="edit"><FONT class="small">Edited by Ivan on 01/28/06 01:01 AM.</FONT></P>

And I mostly agree with you on that part. Yes there are weak republicans, and many are background entertainers that doesn't complete their statements that they started. But the point I'm making is Air America this and Liberal Radio that, is what you see leaning and promoted on this board.

> Chris Mathews,

Yeah, the guy who compares Osama to Michael Moore and calls the Abramoff scandal bipartisan when the guy only gave money directly to Republicans is a true sign of liberal bias.

Larry King,

Larry King wouldn't know an opinion if it hit one in his face. People go on his show because he won't ask any tough questions. I think the only thing that King has an opinion about is Garlique and Welch's Grape Juice.

Alan Colmes,

Colmes isn't a liberal, he just plays one on Fox.

>Network News ABC, CBS, NBC

All owned by big business. Disney isn't what I'd call liberal. Ditto for Viacom and GE. As for NBC, Katie Couric and Tim Russert are two of the biggest GOP hacks on the air. After Howard Dean called Katie out for twisting facts in her questions on the Today show this week, she spent two days with Russert smearing Dean. Yeah, that's liberal bias...

C-Span 1 2& 3

...which shows your government at work with no commentary. You should watch it sometime. It's the only unfiltered look at the congress you'll ever get.

, the whole entire staff of CNN,

Yeah, how about that Daren Kagan, even after breaking up with Rush Limbaugh (according to the NY Daily News). She can't get through a story that mentions a Democrat without making a grimace or snide remark. Watch Miles O'Brien get through an interview without leaning on either GOP talking points or Drudge... oh, yeah, he can't. Scandal in Washington? Quick, find a Natalie Halloway story! Must change subject!

MSNBC,

Home of liberals like Tucker Carlson and Joe Scarborough. And did I mention that Chris Matthews has become a GOP hack?

Now, if you told me that Comedy Central is liberal, I'd agree with you. It's sad when only the fake news shows are the ones that don't piss me off. Lately the fake news shows are more hard hitting than the real ones.<P ID="signature">______________

We have more of a one party system all the time. We have people who like to play angles, and switch over to become opportunists all the time.
But what your mentioning or comparing are light issues compared to what's facing us that is dangerous. Natalie Holloway. If we don't here about her, it's that Hilton sl**, or the Simpsons, etc.

But it's the liberals that seem to switch lanes on us to take things that are real concerns off our mind, and the republicans whether their talk show hosts or actual politicians don't aim on the real serious issues and what as to be done about them. Which makes both parties swing to the left.

As far as serious issues being address, for example the border, free trade, our manufacturing, the whole press eithier shys away from, or defends against us.
Don't tell me that doesn't happen on C-Span.
Yes you just admit were two liberals like Couric and Dean like to twist facts. And Liberals are notorious for chopping the ends off your last sentence and counter act by twisting the facts. They don't care about saving our culture, they just only care about winning an argument. Because they can't win a fight.

The Franken rerun used to be 1-4am Eastern, not Pacific. It's now 1-3am, with Rhodes' first (or last?) two hours until the 5am start of AA Mornings.
