I don't know about Air America on 102.3. Isn't Gwinnett largely a conservative population? I wouldn't think Air America would do so well on a signal that primarily serves the suburbs...especially the northern arc from Cobb to Gwinnett. I would think the larger liberal audience is located closer in, inside 285? Seems like Air America's best chance at success would be on a signal that is strong inside the perimeter. 1690 certainly fits the bill there, but how many people know it's there? I don't recall ever seeing a bit of promotion for this station...billboard, newspaper, TV etc. I still have several radios that don't even tune the expanded band. If I weren't a radio geek, I wouldn't know 1690 is there. I would think their best shot at success here, signal wise, would be if 640, 680 or 790 picked them up. The programming is another issue. I will confess that I have given them very little of my listening time, but I haven't been impressed with the little I have heard. But I am more conservative minded, so I guess I wouldn't be so impressed.Speaking of WLKQ...I do wish their old mix of oldies would show up somewhere.
