AIR waves

When looking at the market and the sations we have 3 country stations, rhy/ chr in kube, kbks, and movin. warm and star. Classic rock from b97, kjr, and kzok, rock 99.9 and 107.7 that flanks 99.9 well.

In seeing that 105.3 is killing most stations ratings wise - why has there been no one to come in and take them on? Maybe a Chr leaning style station. Keeping with the over all message and theme but packaged and imaged in a fresher pop style.

For that matter why no Air 1?

One would think that is the way to go.....

Three answers to that question:

1. Christian radio does not create revenue and has a .5 power ratio. For whatever reason advertisers are shy about buying this product and those that do, pay little for it.
2. Christian radio does not fare well in the PPM. This would be a poor long-term format choice.
3. KCMS has peaked. An isolated huge extrap drove the last book. The station has been in decline since the extrap.
