Air1 Dayton

No more K Love?

KLove is on the much bigger signal 90.3 WKCD [which recently moved tower sites closer to Dayton after being purchased last year from Cedarville University] it makes sense for EMF to flip 96.9 to Air1.

WKCD's new signal pretty much overlaps the area that 96.9 WOKL Covered..

96.9 WOKL : http://www.radio-locator.com/pats/WOKL_FM_LU.gif

90.3 WKCD new signal: http://www.radio-locator.com/pats/WKCD_FM_LU.gif

The big question is now -- Will EMF farm out some of their Commercial band translators in the Dayton/Springfield area that are no longer needed? My guess on that one is -- All signs point to yes they will..

They have applied to sell two so far: 98.1 Sidney and 98.7 Riverside.

It took EMF a long time to flip 96.9 in Dayton to Air1. Is K-Love still on 89.5? I would think they would just let Dayton Public Schools have it full time.

The wait to flip 96.9 to Air1 was the relocation of 90.3 WKCD to a tower near Dayton.

I know the tower move was the reason for the delay but even after the move to the new tower it seemed to take a couple more months. They want to make sure everyone knows but in my opinion that is taking too long. Just make the move and get it over with if it were me. Besides 90.3 should have have better coverage than 96.9 even on their old tower. I do not live their to know but I think EMF was too cautious. That is just my opinion. But my question was if K-Love was still on 89.5 at night. And that EMF should and likely will sell their half of 89.5.

Thanks for letting me know that WQRP 98.5 Dayton, OH is no longer K-Love but is now half Spanish. That is what I wanted to know. It must be Spanish Religious from Radio Nueva Vida. EMF has leased some of their stations to them.

Yes it is indeed Radio Nueva Vida - according to their Facebook site they premiered at 89.5 on 11/19...(English Translation)Today at 1:30 pm (PT) welcome to listeners in Dayton, Ohio at 89.5 FM. If you know someone in that area let them know that we tune!
