AIR3 Console Phone Slider

Just installed an AIR3 console and wondered if anyone has used PGM2 as the feed for the mix-minus and also used PGM2 for recording? What I want to do is use PGM2 for the mix-minus AND record the phone calls on PGM2 while PGM1 is on air. One would think this would work but I'd like to see if someone has already done this with success.

It's not a good idea. Why not use the microphone preamp output to feed the hybrid and PGM2 to feed your recording gear?

They want all three mics to feed the hybrid. Currently have the output of all 3 mics run into a $50 Behringer mixer which feeds the hybrid. That's actually working out pretty well, but if the console supports a better method, I wanted to look into using it. I have exchanged some emails with Jerry Jacobson at Wheatstone & he says it will work. But something else just dawned on me...the mics being on in PGM2 will mute the speakers making a conversation impossible without headphones. The mixer being used now is starting to sound better.

Can the console allow the cue to reamain on when the other monitors are muted? Bring the phnes to cue, if there is any tendency to feedback, reverse the cue speaker connections t omake it out of phase and go with that. Barring that, many consoles allow the cue to feed the headphones hen the studio speakrs are muted. Little chance of feedback then. We take mic audio from the output of the 528E Mic processors, thus the console mic ON button does not have to be used, and the speakers aren't muted.
