AIRCHAIN PHOTOS

In amongst a few boards here there have been some photos posted of airchains, studios and transmitters. I was hoping by stating this board I may be able to coax a few more. I'll take a few photos of the stations I'm working for here in New Zealand at the moment and post them later. Do you have any photos of studios/processing racks/xmtrs?

I guess we could upload them to the processing clips ftp that Goran setup??

I'm in New Zealand as well and have some photos/documentation of transmitters, airchains, processing equipment etc.

Got a contact email?

Maybe Goran can make a subfolder on his upload server to keep processing clips and studio/rack photo’s separated. I will upload some photo’s of the local station where I do some work and if it's ok some photo’s of my processing at home.

Done.

I've uploaded a photo of air-chain rack on Radio Student and a photo of my bench at one moment when I did some comparisons between various processors.

I think I missed the bus on this one - do you have a link / URL for this site? Thanks.

Looks like an 8100.

Yep, looks like an 8100 to me, as well.

Goran...where is that rack located at Radio Student? In the control room or in the room near the WC? I don't remember seeing it last time I was there.

Charlie (on my wife's computer, therefore Jennywoo)

So, that makes the stack:

DSP-Xtra FM
Omnia-3fm Turbo
Optimod-FM 8300
Omnia-6fm
Optimod-FM 8100

Has your Omnia-6 been upgraded to the equivalent of a 6EX or 6EXi?

Also, does your 8100 have analog meters (most common, called 8100A) or digital meters (rare late model, the "8100A/1", I believe)?

BTW, there were also strange versions of the 8100 in brown and blue cabinets, as shown on this web page:

I believe the blue 8100 was sold as a package deal together with a transmitter (BE?), and it was painted the same color as the transmitter.

Any chances of opening up for some other airchains????

Hi Jenny,

Nice to hear from you! :) Hope you're OK. Say hello to your (big) boys from me!

That rack (and most of the stuff in it) is new, I installed it sometime after your visit (so you must come again to check it out). It's in the room near the WC that I like to refer to as "Master control room" ;)

On the top is the Marantz off-air receiver, below Audemat-Aztec RDS coder, then the (in)famous Omnia-6, Orban 424A, streaming encoder that btw includes Orban PC-1100, file server and the big yellow thing is a CTE 500W transmitter.

Correct!

Yes, Omnia-6EX, but not the i.

It's the classic one with analog meters. I've uploaded another picture where you see it from the front...

Yes, I've heard that story as well. But blue is not as bold and proud as yellow! ;)

Ups, sorry! I've moved that server to another computer and the permissions for some reason didn't get transfered. You should be able to upload now.

And I was wondering why nobody else uploaded any pictures...
