Aircheck: KSHE HD-2 "KSHE-2" 7 January 2015

Today, I had a chance to 'roll tape' on the HD-2 subchannel of KSHE Crestwood-St. Louis, known as "K-SHE-2." I have posted airchecks of this station in the past, but time has prevented me from doing more. The station does not stream, which is unfortunate. As a result, I am posting nine hours of KSHE-2 for those who live outside of the St. Louis area, or don't have an HD Radio. The files are 192 (variable bitrate)/44.1, and can be found in this folder:

My overall files can be found here:

Shame the brass at KSHE dumped Radio Rich Dalton from KSHE-2. He had a long and varied career in and out of St. Louis radio over the decades. His throwback style was a nostalgic look back to his KSHE and WMRY days of the early 70's (WMRY was based at the Shrine Of Our Lady Of The Snows across the river in westernmost Belleville. Last I knew, it was a public service station reading news for the blind by volunteers, my late father's late lady friend used to read news on-air there).

There was also a Facebook campaign to rehire Rich, which of course never happened.

For me, a child of the seventies, Rich's on-air voice and unique perspective on classic rock was a welcome rest from the average-ish sound of St. Louis radio as we currently get.
