Aircheck: KSWV 102.9 MHz Autumn 1988

Note: This was posted on another board, but I thought I would post the portion that was relevant to the market

While KIFM San Diego had been in the NAC/smooth jazz format for a couple of years, it actually had a competitor for a time. KSWV (102.9 MHz), adopted the format as an affiliate of Satellite Music Network's version of "The Wave." This recording was on a cassette that was part of a promotional packet that SMN sent me in 1988. While I cannot pinpoint the date, I suspect that it was just after Thanksgiving and before December. That's based on a holiday spot for Alka Seltzer and a promotion for an event that took place in early December. Here is its folder link:

Thank you for sharing that, spirit of 67. Very interesting to hear how dramatically smooth jazz/nac has evolved since that era.

The very first voice on the aircheck - giving the local ID - seems to be Art Good, who, of course, was later on KiFM for many years.
