Aircheck machine?

Back in the "old days," we use have a shoebox style cassette machine, the kind that had a remote on/off switch on the mic, and feed the audio into it. Using dry contacts from the mic into the on/off switch, we had a cheaply made skimmer.

How do you set up an aircheck machine now? Is there a cheap way to digitally set up a skimmer?

I use Skimmerplus from BSI. I can't remember the price, but it was fairly inexpensive. You'll need a PC to run it on. It can be triggered externally, or you may setup Time based events. One of the nice things about it is that you can download airchecks anywhere.
