Aircheck: Music Channel One (satellite network), WVJC

Music Channel One was a nationally distributed satellite network that originated from CHR KMCK (Power 105.7) Siloam Springs/Fayetteville, AR. The service started in either 1992 or 1993 and continued through the 1990's. One of the affiliates of the network was WVJC Mt. Carmel, IL (89.1 MHz)--a non commercial station based at Wabash Valley Community College. WVJC is about 100 miles east of my QTH. As a result, there is some fading from time to time.

While this network was nationwide, the playlist was the same as Power 105.7. Power and its predecessor (K-106) had an approach to Top-40 I enjoyed. The DJ's featured are Bazooka Joe and Richard Kidd.

This is a six hour recording split into six files (192/44.1), and was recorded in April 1997 using a VCR. I was not able to nail down the exact date, but it was recorded overnight Tuesday-Wednesday, and the weather forecasts gave some clues.
