Aircheck of KWXY-FM sign off

KWXY-FM signed off at midnight Feb 1. Below is a link to a You Send It mp3 download of a brief aircheck of the last few minutes . The first voice you hear is Dave Hull (the legendary Hullabalooer of LA radio fame). Next, is 86 year old Glen Barnett, the founder and owner, saying goodbye.

For those of us who appreciate the significance of the passing of grand radio stations, it's quite moving to hear what Glen has to say. The end of KWXY-FM is quite a moment in Southern California radio.

As mentioned below, the station continues in it's new incarnation at 1340 AM and kwxy.com.

Here's the link - it should work for the next couple of weeks.

You made my night, Nick! :D

I was recording off the kwxy.net stream for most of the night, but went to bed before the signoff (I'm on Eastern Time, and 3 AM is past my bedtime) only to find out that the stream cut out on me sometime around 11 PM PST. You wouldn't have more of the last hour by any chance, would you?
