This is to Rick Kelly out at Northeast Airchecks for putting this old WKNY material from the 70's, here is an aircheck from WKNY right here in Kingston, NY from this past Wednesday. It has some AC music along with local news and the complete 5-minute CBS News at the top of the hour. WCBS-AM in New York City had the first two minutes of the TOH CBS News, but it was cut off to make way for traffic updates and local news from NYC. But on WKNY, sometimes had the entire 5-minute TOH CBS newscast on a local level as well as they cut the first two minutes of the newscast to make way for weather and Jones Satellite AC. On weekends, WKNY has oldies every Saturday afternoon, just like the way Mark Simone did with the WABC "Saturday Night Oldies Show". WKNY has been a station since the 60's and 70's when it was top 40 and then went to some sort of AC format with local talk shows and TOH CBS News and some sports like the Kingston Tigers. WKNY used to carried the Yankee games for years and then dropped it in 2003. "The Wolf" at 94.3 still has the Yankee game running throughout the entire season.
