Aircheck-WNEW 1130 jingles

I grew up listening to a lot of stations in New York City.
WNEW was always on in our kitchen because it was the station
my parents listened to, but my brother and I liked it, too.

It one of the most famous stations in New York radio history
and it was around a very long time. They played standards, Big Band,
and even some new music. The DJs were great and I even got to sit
in the studio once with Ted Brown while he did his morning show.

Their jingles were considered to be some of the best in the industry.

WNEW AM was the CLASS of NYC radio. The jingles that they used were rich, like rich chocolate cake.

WNEW was my parents favorite music station. WHN and WPAT came after WNEW. That was in the sixties. I grew up hearing the WNEW jingles, not the WABC jingles, until I had my own radio.

Thanks for the WNEW jingles.

If you want more, send an email to me, I have two CD's from Ken R of WNEW jingles.
