Airchecks: KEZX

Recently, I was sent some additional KEZX airchecks from their evening program "Soft Space." These recordings were made around July 1988, and were provided by AL7MO. This show was a mix of instrumental jazz and new age cuts. The recent uploads start with the files labeled 18-A to 23-B, and are 128/44.1 and can be found in this folder link:

Just found this the other day... I'm so glad I did. I grew up in Seattle during the 80's and KEZX was a big part of my life from around '85 to '89. KEZX during those years in Seattle is something I'll never forget. I've already slapped my knee several times upon hearing a cool old song I'd nearly forgotten... And Jay Phillips! Too cool to hear him again. Thanks so much for posting!

He's still voicing the Emerald Queen Casino TV spots isn't he?

KEZX was a hell of a station. It's too bad they can't make radio like that anymore......

I worked at KEZX and KWJZ back in the day and may have some old airchecks down in the basement, but they wouldn't have the music - just my young self during stopsets.

When were you at 98.9 during the KWJZ Smooth Jazz days? I think I started listening around the early 2000s. Miss that station - KWJZ introduced me to the groovy genre of SJ.
