Airchecks

Greeting, sometime ago. Someone post old Pro FM airchecks of David Simpson and TM in the PM and other jocks. I down loaded them. Recently My IPOD crashed died and was buired. Does anybody have old MP3 Airchecks of Providence stations they can post? I would love to get others besides just the Pro FM.
Thanks

Thanks Guys,
John I have tried using Esnip,There are tons of great Aircheck on the Providence radio history site. But i cant figure out how to download, Then upload to my I POD.

As far as BRU in 86, That would be a great flashback to hear! Alot of great things happened in 86, Did i mention I grew up in West Warwick as a Mets fan? (Hey i was 10!). I would love ANYTHING from the late 70's thur the 90's. Especially PRO FM, Kix 106, BRU, HJY and WRX. So ANYTHING I can get as a MP3 would be awseome. This time I will burn to CD's as a back up!

John, I could use a tutorial on how to convert cassette tapes to MP3s. I have a ton of Providence radio recordings from 1990 onward, including nearly all of the "classic" PRO-FM jocks of the '90s as well as Kix 106's phase as a CHR/Pop station. You once posted some directions, but I can't find them. Thanks in advance.

OK.. simple. Buy a wire that fits into the headphone jack of your tape player. This wire should also have the same sized plug on the other end. So plug that end into the input jack on the back of your computer. Test it to make sure sound is coming through your speakers. Then use the sound recorder of your choice to record everything. I use Total Recorder. Then I use Goldwave if I need to edit anything and convert the file into an MP3.

Hint: Have playback volume on the tape player turned way down when you plug in the patch cord. Then turn it up gently as needed so you don't damage the computer.

Another good (and free) recording/editing program is "Audacity" available for download online. By itself it won't convert to MP3 but the directions for the download will direct you to another site for a program called (not joking here) "Lame". Put both Audacity and Lame in the same folder (or whatever they're called in Windoze) as you may have to tell Audacity where to look for Lame when you have recorded and want to export the selection as an MP3.

I use them with several Macs, some of which are used for street reporting even, and I have seen others use them on even the cheapest of Windoze laptops. Costs less than a medium-grade digital recorder and produces equal or better results with less editing. Though not as easily portable.

Create an account (http://www.esnips.com/register.php). Once you are logged in, the blue download button under the player will allow you to save the MP3 file. I successfully downloaded all 25 files from user "pvdradio".

Thank you very much, gentlemen. This helps me a great deal!

One tape I hope to convert to MP3: Late summer of 1990, TJ Napp and Tony Mascaro broadcasting from the Midway at Rocky Point. Radio at its most fun...

THANKS R.J. FOR THE HELP! DO YOU HAVE ANY OLD FUN 107 AIRCHECKS? OR OTHER STATION JINGLE PACKAGES EVEN?

Both! I have a fair amount of stuff. Let me know what stations you are interested in. I could meet up with you in person sometime... I've been meaning to meet up with you for years now anyway :) I still have a hard drive from Anthony that I still need to get back to him. Maybe you, Anthony and I can meet up at Wright's Farm up in Burrillville sometime. If not, I could always upload some stuff for you. Send me a Facebook message.
