Airhead America Candidates

Nurse Jeff and I were handicapping the candidates for Airhead America Phoenix as the Pixelthon ramps up to a half mil and showtime. Here's what we came up with so far:

KSAZ 580am What would happen to Mr Golden Throat, Dan Babbich?

KMIA 710am Black Canyon City needs a hometown station more.

KIDR 740am Okay daytime signal, nothing but KCBS skywave at night.

KMVP 860am Suns games again on 98.7? Mr Peakerman thinks not.

KGME 910am Too much a blow to the CCU ego.

KDUS 1060am Hmmm..does the market really need 3 sports stations?

KFNX 1100am The John Dahl morning cough show is growing on us.

KOY 1230am Most logical station if CCU could sell flame throwin lib-talk!

KXAM 1310am City of Mesa would force their towers out of the cemetery.

KSUN 1400am We doubt the market can survive with one less Spanish station.

KAZG 1440am Would require the use of 52 watts at night.

KPHX 1480am ACR..Muzak of Your Grandma's Life..and now WHAT??

KFNN 1510am Too successful with a format that needs no ratings.

KASA 1540am see KAZG

KMIK 1600am Programming that would be right at home with Goofy!

That one's in the Tucson market, not Phoenix. Inaudible in the valley at night.

Poor-to-nonexistant nighttime signal.

Doesn't Arthur Liu own this station? If so, Air America won't end up here.

I think Bonneville is planning to finally upgrade this signal and move all KTAR's sports programming here. Besides, does anyone think Bonneville would pick up Air America?

And to the CCU wallet. They bill well.

I think this one's a possibility.

From what I understand, they like having Michael Savage on their station. I can't see them picking up AAR.

Not as long as the WW2 generation is still living.

Another possibility.

It still might work on 1440. Their mighty 52 watts does cover Scottsdale and Tempe pretty well, where AAR needs to be targeting.

Also another possibility since this station has little reason to exist anymore. If they went off the air, few would notice and nobody would care.

No way. They make money. But it sure would p!ss Bill O'Reilly off, though.

They'll never change from Spanish-language religion.

Actualy it's 1580, but ABC isn't selling the Radio Disney stations so it's a moot point.

Consider that Sporting News Radio is about to go belly up, this looks like the best possibility. Its not like 1060am bills anything, and it saves Gumpdusky the trouble of going out and finding programming...
