Al Brady Law

My friend BobontheJob notified me today that Al Brady Law passed away Monday evening. Cincinnati listeners would remember him as Big Al Law on WUBE back in the mid 1960's when Drake programmed the station. Bob has made several airchecks available on this site that feature and Big Al and the other WUBE jocks.

Big Al went on to be known as Al Brady Law and programmed several stations, including WABC. Rest in peace Al

BIG AL was always a favorite! If 1230 had any signal, WSAI would have been in real trouble--- very sad news,Way too young to go---- Any airchecks floating out there? I have only been able to find a couple of breaks on compilations

Yep Marty...FRR supplied the raw tapes and I did the scoping. Lots of 1968 WUBE including Big Al at http://bob-on-the-job.com/WUBE/ .

I was an avid WCPO/123WB/WUBE listener back in that era so I really enjoyed those WUBE airchecks from the Drake days. Thanks FRR & Bob! However, it's sad to hear that another Boss Jock has passed on.

As Marty's said 1230's inferior signal was a big handicap, especially in the winter with shortened days when they could barely be heard in the suburbs pre-sunrise/post-sunset. Nonetheless I always thought they out-programmed WSAI.

I always heard that WUBE was equal to WSAI in the ratings but they were having to spend huge sums to do it, therefore, the greener country pastures in 1969. Boss Radio was truly the good stuff...R.I.P. Big Al....when I get to heaven, I want to be on your engineering staff!
