Al Gore's News Channel?

I have heard that Al Gore had created some sort of news channel last year. Comcast has not seemed to pick it up. Did it go under?

It is not a news channel. It's an independent producer clip channel called Current. It replaced Newsworld International. Some find it compelling. I personally don't.

He used all his creative ability inventing the internet.

Current is basically a documentary network. Anybody can submit material to the network.

I miss Newsworld International. It was one of my favorite cable networks. However Current can have interesting and informative content.
______________

The channel is still around. DirecTv has it on channel 366.

From what little I had seen of NWI, I agree...much different from what we're left with for cable news now.

Current's 'pods' can be really on...or really off. But they're short, so I can always click away when a boring one comes on.
______________
What, you were expecting me to make sense for a change?

That line was worn out years ago, and ceased to be funny after about the 3000th repetition.

As for whether he's invented anything new with "Current", while I'm not holding my breath, time will tell.

My God! I'm dying from laughter! Are you a comedy writer? Let me guess...the Daily Show? SNL? Limbaugh? Who do you write for? You're hilarious!!!

You say it, of course, tongue in cheek. But at least you phrased the observation a bit more delicately than did Mr. Desmond (see his post in response to my original post). So much falderal over so few words.

No intent on my part to be "funny" or evem mildly amusing--just made an off handed comment.
