Al Kresta is ill.

"Kresta In The Afternoon" host, Al Kresta, heard over the Ave Maria and EWTN radio networks, had been off a lot, with fill in host Marcus Peters(?) taking his place. Most recently, Al hasn't been on at all. Finally, it was mentioned by Marcus that Mr. Kresta has cancer. Of course, prayers are going up for Al. He is a congenial radio show host who, deftly, handles both religious and contemporary news items.

On the show on 06/17/2024, it was announced that Al Kresta had passed away on 06/15/2024. Al Kresta had founded, and was the leader of, the Ave Maria Radio Network which had a relationship with EWTN. On 6/17/'24 they had tribute segments on his show, "Kresta In The Afternoon" (Monday-Friday 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. EDT), although I think they start at 4:00 p.m. on some stations. I listen to the show on AM1260 WCCR in Cleveland, Ohio. At the time of this writing, the nationally syndicated "Sonrise Morning Show" (Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. EDT) is talking about Al, and how he became a Catholic Christian. Tuesday 06/18/'24, more tributes and, likely, segments from Al, himself, will be on "Kresta In The Afternoon".
