Al Meredith CBS-FM News

I heard Al Meredith on the last day of CBS-FM. How far back does this guy go? I know I heard him in 1990, and I am pretty sure I heard him do news through the eighties.

Does anyone know anything about Al Meredith? When he started at 101.1FM? Where he worked before that and maybe what he is doing now?

Thank you.
______________

I wonder if Al's been at CBS-FM as long as Earl Douglas has been at WNEW-FM.
______________

AL WAS JOHN ALLEN ON WBLI/WGLI

Al joined WCBS-FM around 1980-1982. Worked at Long Island's WBLI 106.1 as JOHN ALLEN. He was the newscaster during morning drive. He worked with "AM DRIVERS" JEFF THOMAS (who later worked at FM99 WXLO as MIKE SCALZI), BILL TERRY and BARRY NEAL. Also, I believe Al did news for WBLI's sister station 1290 AM WGLI (during the BECK-ROSS ownership).

One of the best newscasters to hit the airwaves on Long Island radio dial.

I hope this helped.

He is still at 101.1 JACK-FM, currently producing his public affairs programming.

Yes, and thanks. I have heard him, but never paid as much attention to him as to the jocks. For years I have heard him.

Apparently... If you ever check the playlist on Yes.com, there's usually a gap in the playlist between 4 and 7 AM on Sunday mornings. I thought it was only infomercials...
______________
