Al Meredith is retiring

News Director/morning newsguy Al Meredith is retiring from WCBS-FM.
Anyone have any idea who is replacing him?

My money is on George Flowers

George Flowers is my guess too or they can always bring back Jeff Allan or Tony Warren.

I remember Al Meredith on CBS-FM doing the news a long time ago right before the "Jack" flip and then came back two years later to do news in the morning. I very sad to see him go, I going to miss AL on his retirement. Does anybody remember the show "Dialog 101"? It was usually on right after Max Kinkel, the "Max Man" on Saturday nights to early Sunday morning. Al was doing his interview with some people.

Glenn Shuck has done the news the past two mornings. My guess either he or someone else on loan from WCBS-AM or WINS will do the 3 newcasts in AM Drive. This would be an economy move. Dialog 101 is there for FCC compliance. Since it si on 4 AM on Sunday, so few people listen to it anyway.

True, but how many stations make any effort at all to publicize their public affairs programming? CBS does deserve credit for at least letting people know what's going on, even if few people listen.
