Al Roberts has passed away!

Sports Anchor,writer and Tv Personality Al Roberts passed away tonight around 6:20pm.Coroner Robert Byrd says Al died of a heart attack.I have known Al for over 30 years.We go back to the time when radio stations would air Friday night High school scoreboard.We would exchange scores When I worked at WKMX. When I moved to Dothan in 1980 I met Al and always was a class act.He was kind enough the week he retired to come on my morning show at HIS Radio 94.3 and hang out and talk for awhile.A true pro!You will be missed my friend.
 
Dubba, you are right the media community has lost a great guy in Al Roberts. He would do anything for you! Prayers go out to Al's family.
 
Visitation for Al Roberts is Sunday Night, 6p-8p at Sunset Memorial. Funeral will be Monday at 10:30am at Saint Columba Catholic Church. In liew of flowers donations are encouraged to Saint Columba or The Alzheimer's Resource Center.
