Al Roker New Host For Syndicated Millionaire??

Right now I am watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and instead of Meredith Vieira being on there, there's a loud screaming black guy yelling at the top of his lungs on there. He looks a little bit like Al Roker only fatter. As a matter of fact, it is Al Roker. Guess the gastric-bypass surgery didn't help at all.

My question is: When did Meredith let Al Roker take over even for a week? Is she planning on leaving Millionaire? I can't stand screaming game show hosts. Al Roker is no game show host!!! Sorry about that!!
 
A one week fill in stunt can't be taken to mean that (a) she's leaving the show and (b) that Al Roker is the replacement. By every account I've read, she is still under contract for next season and hasn't made any moves to bail out; she just took a couple of weeks off and let fill-ins cover it.
 
Before the season, it was publicized that a handful of folks will be filling in for Meredith. One of the fill ins I can't wait to see is Tom Bergeron; the man is truly the best TV host in the biz today.

I doubt I could possibly agree with you more! I've been a regular Millionaire watcher forever, and while I don't have a major problem with Al Roker, his "performance" on the show Monday was so over the top I actually had to change the channel, and have decided I will not be watching it the rest of the week.

For what it's worth, I'm also a dedicated Today Show watcher, but even there he has this annoying tendency to ham it up more than a little too much.

Thanks for letting me vent. I feel so much better now :D
 
Al Roker is a very good host for the shows that he does on the Food Network but nothing else. the Today show has never been the same since Willard Scott was replaced by Roker. Or did Scott retire?

I thought that Willard Scott appeared on occasion to celebrate people who are celebrating their 100+ year old birthdays. I haven't watched much of Today in the past few years to notice.
 
It seems kind of odd that ABC (who produces WWTBAM) would let an NBC person fill in on the show. I mean, they don't even want to admit that Viera is the host anymore on some ABC stations because she's on Today.
