Al Sharpton On MSNBC

MSNBC's 6 PM ET time slot, which, outside of Ed Schultz's program (now in primetime) has shown some real instability over the last several years (remember "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?") may turn the hour over to progressive superstar Al Sharpton, who had been guest-hosting the time slot for "Young Turk" Cenk Uygur - who, since replacing Schultz, is still officially an "interim" host - over the last few weeks.

I'm an MSNBC fan, and this part of their schedule is very weird. Why do they run Hardball TWICE? The later slot might be a good time for a straightforward evening news (kinda like some early MSNBC programs).

Since I added Current TV to watch Keith, I've cut back a bit on MSNBC or I'd get nothing done. So I've skipped Ceng and Chris, so I can watch Keith in real time while recording Lawrence O'Donnell; then I watch Rachel in real time and Ed's opening bit. If there's real news, I may not get to L O'D until later at night or the next morning. (I also watch the CBS Evening News, which now has yet another, and more attractive O'Donnell, Norah....she made her first appearance there Monday night). As a result, I have no dog in the fight, or cat either, in what MSNBC runs from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. I don't think Sharpton has TV (or radio) chops, as was discussed this morning (Tuesday) on the Stephanie Miller radio show.

Well (and you knew somebody would eventually bring this up) neither David Lee Roth nor Whoopi Goldberg had radio chops, yet that didn't stop CBS and Clear Channel, respectively, from giving them their own morning radio shows. :-\

2. Watch Cenk end up at Current in the near future.
...Olby just tweeted that the "near future" you speak of is Thursday evening, 8 PM Eastern, 5 PM Pacific...

MSNBC is only fooling themselves if they think they'll get a different result with "The Rev" on instead of Cenk. If they want a different result, they should hire RICK SANCHEZ !!!

JMO.....

Cheers :D

But only as a guest.....

Any video yet? MSNBC used to churn out "Countdown" video to its website instantly.

You know, that's not a bad idea. I wonder if any bigwigs at the nets visit here.

I doubt it. Rick Sanchez only wants to overtalk everyone.

I don't believe Rick previously worked for MSNBC...
...2001 to 2003, between WSVN and WTVJ...
That's not the same as working for the network itself. Big difference
...you misread what I said. Sanchez left WSVN in 2001 to take an anchoring position at MSNBC in New York, and left MSNBC after two years there to take a position at WTVJ...
