Alabama Radio and TV clips 1970s

Steve, thanks for posting the link. I enjoyed listening to the airchecks...makes me long for those days when radio was great. btw, I haven't forgotten about the aircheck swap. I'll try to put a list together for you tomorrow. :)

WKRG-TV's advertisement for "The CBS Evening News" in the YouTube recording (the advertisement begins three minutes and 38 seconds after the start of the recording) reminds me of the time the station used to broadcast "The CBS Evening News" from 5:45 p.m. until no later than 6:15 p.m. The change to broadcasting the program live from 5:30 p.m. until no later than 6:00 p.m. must have occurred sometime between 1976 and 1977, according to my collection of local TV listings from past editions of the Mobile Press-Register.

Thank you for the link @stevations!

"Dothan temperature on the outside is 66 degrees, inside Northside mall it's a delightful 72 degrees and the specials are always hot!"

LOL

I wish I recorded more but tapes were expensive. During the 70s quad music was the big fad. Then, not a word. Someone on another post said there were problems with the system. I forget what they said but maybe it was that it deteriorated the sound for people who did not have a quad system?
