Alan Almond gets the boot?

I'm surprised there are no comments about Alan Almond getting the boot from WNIC after all these years.

Looks like WNIC is all automated after 7PM till the next morning.

I had heard that at this last time at WNIC Almond wasn't making all that much money...so I'm surprised.

Anyone know what Alan was making from WNIC in this last time he was there?

I don't think anyone really knows, but Alan. At one point, he was one of the highest paid night jocks in the country. Apparently, he left and did not get the boot. There is another round of cuts coming from CC, but he wanted to get out before he got the boot. He's close to a syndication deal and who knows, he may end up back on WNIC. There are several station in Detroit that are automated after 7pm. You'd be surprised at which ones. And now, Sharon Dastur will program Channel 9-5-5 as well as Z100/NYC. Radio is still in trouble. A few people in CBS nationwide have recently retired so that they don't get the boot as they are still cutting where they can.

Oh, I'm sure there are lots of people who know. Colleagues, managers, and anyone else that Alan shared it with.

I know at one time he was one of the highest paid in the country, but I am under the impression that this final stretch of employment, he was not in the best negotiating position....and was accepting a far more meager salary than in the glory days of Pillow Talk. Just wondering if anyone heard what it might be.

For sure, Alan is one of the best in the biz.

Now, you can put any kind of shine you want on it...but he was definitely given the boot.
