Alan Colmes Show - WSAR

I hear, through the grapevine, that WSAR's Keri Rodrigues will be a guest on Alan Colmes' show Friday night. Comments?

I noticed the sarcasm, Skynet ::)

She's supposed to be on his radio show tomorrow night. Sometime between 10PM & 1AM. The nearest AC affiliate here is in Columbia, SC, so I guess I'll be forced to listen on-line.

I think Alan is on WSAR. So I'm sure that this will just be a little elbow rub session. I doubt that anyone is going to find this an interesting interview. Everyone will be asking why Alan is having some unknown broad on as a guest. I'm asking myself that right now. I honestly see zero appeal for the rest of the country to listen to this. I guess his real guest canceled.

He is on WSAR, so there's a possible reason for Keri's scheduled appearance. Despite whatever animosity one might have for her, I think it's cool for her to be on a national show. Though, I'd like to see (or hear) her go head-to-head with Laura Ingraham.

Are you Keri.

Everytime you post it's about Keri.
I heard the ratings are low at WSAR.

I am not Keri. Even if I were, why would you care? If you weren't so hell-bent on being anti-Keri, you'd notice my signature on the bottom of my posts. [EDIT]

[EDIT-inflammatory]

I don't know if he is Keri, but I do know that when people start talking about rumors they've heard through the grapevine, I can't help but to laugh. What grapevine? You make it sound like WSAR is a hot bed station on the gossip circuit. Let's be honest here. WSAR is a radio station that barely registers on the map....... in a city that most of the country has never even heard of. So stop playing this up like it's some grand event and let's be honest. The grapevine is probably Keri calling you on the phone and telling you.

Boys...boys......

I did not receive a call from Keri nor am I her. The grapevine I speak of is a former radio pro who lives inthe Swansea area. Whether or not this person knows Keri personally is unkown to me.

My decision to say anything about it was to toss out another subject on an otherwise boring forum. Contextually speaking: boring = this place turns into a b***h-fest at the drop of a hat.

As for me posting anything about WSAR - it's because I have a life-long relationship with the station. My father was Chief Engineer for Knight Quality Stations for years and was GM of the station in the late 70s/early 80s. I was in the newsroom at 'SAR when the old UPI machine spit out an *URGENT* message on 8/16/1977 - announcing that Elvis had died. Gregg Stevens was on the air at the time. Also, I've had the pleasure of learning much about radio from people like Mike (Art) Berluti, Chris Chandler, Steve Kass, Moe Lauzier, Mark Williams and others.

While the station may be a shell of its former self, I will always root for WSAR to do well. And, for the record, I do not share most of Keri's political views. That's why talk radio is one of my favorite formats.

Thanks for coming clean Randy. Keri took down her blog and she also isn't on the air LIVE today. Some Fall River politicians were threatening her with a lawsuit yesterday. So I don't know if her vanishing act this afternoon has anything to do with that. I guess we'll find out in due time.

In any event..... I just tuned in my satellite receiver to FOX News so that I'll get a crystal clear direct feed of Alan Colmes tomorrow night. If I'm home and if I remember, I may listen. I might even tape it just in case something memorable happens. Highly doubtful.... but anything can happen.

I still have absolutely no clue as to what Alan will talk to her about. NONE

The Law Suit thing is disturbing. I just got off the phone with a WSAR friend.
They believe Keri was suspended for one day, because of her conduct. Does anyone have anymore information? Walter.

I know what happened. Will I post it here? Nope.

WSAR is not a station with Balls. Most little community radio stations arn't. This isn't a situation like Howard Stern. He can say whatever he pleases and his employer will back him 100 percent. In the past Howard will bash the boss himself and still get to keep his job. Unfortunately you can't pull off that kind of stuff until you become big. VERY BIG!

Keri is a small fish swimming in an even smaller pond. You just arn't going to get away with things like that over there. WSAR is a SAFE Radio station and that's the way they want to keep it. So when you start mouthing off on the air like some shock jock, there are going to be consequences to pay.

When I worked at WSAR, I was running the board for a local sports show. The host was a younger guy who had that Howard Stern mentality. The Program Director was doing a Live remote during the broadcast. Every 15 minutes or so The sports guy in studio was supposed to throw it over to the PD so he could do his thing. Well Mr. Sports guy refused to throw it over to the PD on one or two occasions. Sports guy was bitching on the air about the constant interuptions. Well..... guess what happened to Mr. Sports Guy. He was fired within 24 hours.

WSAR is not a station where you get away with much. Keri has more than pushed the limits. They are scared of everything at that station. In all actuality the listeners have more power than the hosts do. If you start complaining to sponsors and filing lawsuits against the station..... there isn't a host there who is safe from the unemployment line. It sounds like Keri is half way there with her suspension.
