Alan Cook out at CC

ALL ACCESS has confirmed that CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KNST-A/TUCSON and Oldies KWFM-A (COOL 1450)/TUCSON PD ALAN COOK has exited the station...COOK's KNST duties are being handled by cluster OM TIM RICHARDS and his COOL 1450 duties are being handled by Top 40/Rhythmic KOHT (HOT 98.3) PD FRED RICO for the time being.

I'm really, really sorry to hear this. Alan is a great guy who worked very hard to make those stations successfull-and KNST clearly is!

Clear Channel isn't cutting fat any more. They've ground away the bone and are now scooping out its marrow.

yet another good person is gone from that building.
sad.
The good news is that I know a few others that have either left cc-tucson (knst) or have been fired... and are doin pretty darned good for themselves.

maybe he can sell realestate with Terry Daniels.

TQ!!!!!!!!

This just in:
All Cheap Channel talent has been fired and supplanted by the Autoblab 3000 system.

Engineers will soon be replaced by highly trained mice that will service the new line of cheese-scented klystron tubes.

:-*

Who knows what really happened? Did AC get the boot? Was this a "mutual thing." Does CC have someone else in mind? Will they replace him? Seems to me that KNST has performed well. It used to be a PD would sweat if his/her numbers sucked and feel semi-stable if the numbers were okay. Apparently - at least in CC's case - the numbers no longer matter?

Who knows what's up?

The explanation from the Ops Mgr is that article is embarassing. Give the same workload to the next person and see history repeat itself.
If memory serves correct, isn't the "hide in your office all day and point at others when things don't quite add up" a repeat-performance? Some things never change.

Who's next on the list?
