Alan Cox Show to mornings with Mark Nolan?

Heard a rumor out at Oak Tree that Mark Nolan will be joining the cast of the Alan Cox Show and they are moving them to mornings if the Rover situation doesn't get resolved? Has anyone else heard this yet? Crazy week in media

This isn't the first time Rover's been playing the "Will he stay or will he go?" mystery game.

Let it play out.

And I believe I saw where Nolan may do some radio work at WDOK (could have been on OMW--apologies if I'm mistaken),

Mark Nolan, Nark Shmolin. No big deal. Certainly not someone you change a show around over- or try to fill the great Chuck Collier's shoes with. Puh-leez.

The best thing Mark ever did was leave Kool 92 in Alliance years ago. Mark took off after that. Radio and TV. He's been one if the most highly compensated personalities in Cleveland for a reason: people love him. He's money.

It's ALSO not the first time Alan has had to succeed a popular morning host.

Actually he's done it TWICE.

In 2004, Alan was upped to mornings at WXDX-FM Pittsburgh after CC canceled Howard Stern chain-wide (in a post-Janet Jackson panic move that, in turn, led to Stern's defection to Sirius). Then two years later, Alan replaced Eric "Mancow" Muller on Mancow's flagship station, Emmis' now-defunct WKQX "Q101."

So there is precedent.

Just to clarify here: I'm not hearing ANY of these rumors.

Not "Alan Cox and Mark Nolan to WMMS AMD", not "Mark in WGAR PMD", not even "Mark on WDOK/WQAL". None of it. Something's up, but few are talking.

What I did say, and only here and not on the blog, is that I've heard Mark has talked to Dave Popovich at DOK/Q. I don't know if they talked about any radio work, or the weather, or food. :) But since Mark has already indicated he'll be doing some "short term radio work", you do the math.

Mark has also been at Oak Tree...he was on with Jimmy Malone (John Lanigan vacation schedule) and Chip on WMJI in the morning Thursday, for a good long time. I am told they didn't talk radio.

But while he's a WKYC employee, he's still tied to CC due to that weather deal (though presumably he can appear as a guest elsewhere). (I haven't checked to see if KK still has him DOING the weather on WKDD, long after Mark did his last forecast on TV ;)) So, who knows if he met with, say, Keith Abrams.
