Alan Cutler Gets His Revenge On Clear Channel

I read the article about this in todays's Cincinnati Enquirer. I've never cared for Alan Cutler either on the air or off. On the air, he maintains he is the one in the know and talks down to callers who take issue with his opinions. Off the air, he tends to speak only with those who he feels are on his level.

In short, Alan Cutler comes cheap...and you get what you pay for...what fool would spend 6 hours on a Sunday and drive from Lexington to Cincinnati in the winter for a few bucks? He's a blow hard, know it all who couldn't makje it in any other market but Lexington, Ky.
As for Bill Dennison, aka Seg-Man, loved by most but how can a guy who stutters make it in radio? Oops, Lance McAlister did.

Why drive? Just use ISDN.

Not many people are more annoying to listen to than this guy....and I am from Dayton and that is saying a lot. Always found his recapping at halftime to be monotonous and unnecessary. Why not just have a shorter recap of the first half and then give out some scores around the league?

Lighten up people! The Cut Man is awesome, always has been! I find myself wondering if this board is populated by a large number of unemployed or never employed radio people who are simply jealous of someone who is making a living in the business. If you think he sucks, audition for the job and show us all how it's really supposed to be done! In the meantime, go buy a Dave Lapham throwback jersey and a six pack, then listen to Mike Brown's "Committment To Excrement" plow though another dreadful season.

It's stuff like this that is slowly converting me into a Browns fan. Sure, the Browns aren't great, but I think the folks they have in charge actually have the desire and ability to improve the team, unlike the Bengals, who will never have a chance until Mike Brown dies. Plus the Browns radio team is pretty damn good.

Who could forget some of the Cutlers quotes?

It's a great day to be a Bengals fan. (Is he going to say that this year when they're 3-10?)
or
That's incredulous.

Or who could forget his famous "The Reds need one thing and that's pitching pitching pitching pitching pitching pitching.

I think Cutler is very good. My only critical comment is that he often over-uses rhetorical questions to make his point. While that's an effective technique, he uses it a lot. He has great energy and has a knack for what's compelling.
