audiophantom said:If its true, that would be a shame considering the holidays. Alan has always seemed like a nice, personable guy and I think he's a decent programmer, but KFBK may have been too much for him. I am by no means a fan of Ken Kohl's management style, but he did consistently keep KFBK at the top of the ratings. KFBK has become a shell of its former self, the election alone should have helped KFBK pole vault to near the top, but still seemed to fall short. Budgets and staffing could also have played a role in KFBK's failure to capitalize in the ratings. If Alan is gone wish him all the best and hope that KFBK can find someone to help bring the station back to its successful track record.
Couldn't have happened to a more worthy candidate. I guess that there were no more co-workers and "friends" into whose backs he could plunge a knife. He and the slimy Jeff Holden can now get together and pull the wings off of flies for fun

I couldn't agree more, and that was funny at the same time! Those two corporate ass smoochers are the reason CC and BK are in the mess they're in today. Remember when Holden was a smarmy sales guy? Perfect example of what happens when you put an AE in charge of a radio cluster. Run for your lives flies

Both agreed to respect the arrangement I made with Alan to work there - Kohl tried to turn me into a reporter/board op/producer/anchor while ordering me not to automate the Prophet in BK control so I could actually do all they wanted. It was as though he had never heard of floating breaks.
But when corporate decides they can cut and slash to the bone, all the while trying to convince everyone the product isn't suffering, they are deluding themselves.
Came election night, not a radio was stirring in my house or car...I could get unfiltered facts plus all the punditry B.S. on my computer. There was a time not so long ago when - before my stint at BK - NOT tuning 1530 in on election night was unthinkable. Those days are long, long gone.....

At least Alan showed some decency and even compassion -
although I got the feeling he had to watch over his shoulder for Corporate whenever he did so...........

Um.... that would be a big "Yeah". He, and Kohl, were broadcasters. The last to leave the building among management.

Alan enjoys playing with his kill, before he actually kills it He is the perfect corporate robot... totally amoral and "just following orders".

Talkerguy....you and people like you exemplify the ignorance and loss of perspective that plagues us today, when everyone's actions (that are not even remotely analogous) are compared to the Nazi's, or some horrific event.
For you to compare someone, whoever it is for following orders of a boss or corporation so far removed from that sort comparison, it displays your willful lack and frankly laziness of being able to discuss the merits (or lack thereof) of something or someone without being incendiary.
If you have never followed direction or orders, you are one of two things, maybe both:
1...a liar
2. unemployed a lot.
The myth(s) that some purport about individuals are shameful, but that is I guess why we have internet boards.
I did not always agree or see eye to eye with Alan, but that does not mean he was not a good person, or leader, in my view.
But when I didn't agree, I got over it, and moved on, whether with my work there, then eventually elsewhere.
Grow up, have your feelings, but be mature and professional enough...and intelligent enough to communicate them with out lobbing bombs and bulls****.

Maybe it's Mark Williams and he's still bitter.
