Where are you guys...there's lots of discussion about little things, but nothing about the big things. Rick Mitchell has been signed as the new morning show host/PD of B-95. Joke you ask? No, it's all true. No word on a sidekick yet, but this is a done deal.

Chuck and Kelly begin at Regent next week, for now on the Buzz until the new signal is up and running.

In other ABC News, Brian Cody starts his new morning show next week with a new cohost from out of town.

I just got breaking news that Timmy Weekend was gonna do news and traffic for Brian and Andy in the morning!!!! The car didnt leak gas by the way, it had a flat tire and there were no doors on the vehicle.

Yes, the same Ric Mitchell that was the Program Director on Star 101.3 and the same Ric Mitchell who programmed that piss poor AC format (worst playlist ever) on Star 101.3 that you speak about kbradio.

Yes, now that same Ric Mitchell, in addition to mornings is also going to be the Program Director of B95. Maybe Ric is morning radio but Ric has no track record as a great Program Director. As your post indicates they had the worst playlist ever with the music he was responsible for programming on Star 101.3.

It's the same stinky playlist The Jockey 101.3 WJKE used back in the mid 90's! The music service used was TM Century... So it's not all Ric's fault if the station is Cheap!

Ric has excellent name recognition, is very endearing and sincere. He is also a TOTAL pro and knows the B95 demo like the back of his hand. He is so full of energy and very likeable. Trust me...as a long time veteran in the market I have seen the research and I know!! . People who missed the old "KLITE" like Ric Mitchell and want him back. I rarely post on this board so when I choose to post it is because I have solid info to back up what I say. Best wishes to Ric! ~Lisa Walker

Thanks for the kind words and I would love to work with Ric again if I was still in the biz fulltime. However, I have been out of radio full time for over 9 years now. It was totally by choice. My passion was marketing, programming and music and these aspects ended up being handled less locally and less decided on "passion" for the music as the 90s progressed. I saw the writing on the wall early enough to change careers. Ric does not really need a co-host as he is good enough on his own. Either way, I wish him and his staff well.

second..ric mitchell? albany broadcasting has sunk to a new low..what has happened to that place? mitchell must be so desperate to get back into the biz that he is paying them!! it's sad really..albany broadcasting USED to be a powerhouse...think of the talent that walked the halls..the list is impressive, but these days, it's just sad. w/the exception of brian cody..the boy has talent and if he is moving to the am it's the first smart thing i have seen by the powers that be at abc in a very long time.
well that's my two cents..can't wait to see what clever remarks reporter will have for me...

He's going to have a lot of competition, even in his own building, with the new morning show from Fly 92 and Brian Cody back where he belongs, in the morning. Jay & Ben from Magic 100.9 have built quite a loyal following in their almost 5 years on the air and last time checked were #3 mornings 12+ and .2 behind Chuck & Kelly (ooooooops, not anymore) in the last trend.........As I remember Star 101.3 wasn't even on the first page in the ratings from someone that's that talented and has such great name recognition.....Oh and I almost forgot, there's always Sean and Richie, so good luck, you're going to need it.

You feel free to throw around all this criticism and negativity on this board and the Syracuse board as if you are an experienced professional. If you are, then proudly state who you are. People have more respect for critics who sign their name and admit who they are. Just because this is a RADIO BOARD does not mean it has to be all negative. And, just because someone wants to congratulate another or say something good about a person's work does not mean they are a kiss ass. I think anyone who does not post their name on a supposedly professional board like this is a coward. While I do not know ALL of the people who post on this board and other market boards, personally, I admire the ones who have the guts to say who they really are...LOL...because I have worked or know most of them anyway . If you are not worried about kissing ass and if you are SO ESTABLISHED as a professional (not being sarchastic being sincere) why not say who you are? Maybe I would say something sincerely nice about you if you were someone whose work I admired whether or not you are at the competition. I wish you well I am just sorry that you are so negative...I feel sorry for people who are like this in general.
