Albany Broadcasting's New GM Revealed Here...

Let me preface this by saying I get Facebook and texts from fellow Broadcasters about news bits quite often. They trust me. Cool. They will be anonymous. My only rule, I will never reveal my sources and they are true...It always come from them. No hearsay...

On that note. I'm hearing that Veteran Broadcaster and GM Icon Bobby Ausfeld will be the new GM for ABC! The 3 sales people that have left Town Square for ABC are Selena, Chantel, and Bobby's son Brian...

Mr. Really? Mr. Ausfeld was supposed to have purchased Anastos (sp) in Saratoga. I was informed that fell through, apparently... And he would be the new GM at ABC...It's radio, anything could happen.

Do you work at ABC?
 
Also, I would be surprised if it were Mr. Ausfeld. They had a huge retirement party for him last year...

Radio though....Is a funny business....

Sounds like Reporter should change his name to "Rumor" - you state everything as if it's a fact, then back track with "could be", "might be" and could happens - yet you title your post as if you have solid confirmed news - but with your latest post - you don't even believe it.
Change the title to : "Heard a rumor about new GM at ABC"
 
Everthing I've heard about that seems to indicate that it is true...the Sales people that left Townsquare for ABC are following him.

Also heard the cat has a new PD to replace Ally Reid, and he will also be taking over OM responsibilities for Adirondack Broadcasting.

Hi Radiochick...Thank you. Like I said "Really?" I'm given info. I don't make up things out of my a**. I've got 2 people giving me info...Now the latest is ABC will not be announcing anything for at least 2 weeks. It appears Mr. Ausfeld may be buying out Anastos in Saratoga. IF this falls though, he'll be the new GM of ABC.
 
Are they going to tweak the Cat? I'd go with an 80s/90s-based country format to differentiate from WGNA if it absolutely has to stay country :)
 
I believe it was 3 sales (1 last week) and the Marketing-Promotions director that has left Townsquare Media to go to Abc. As far as the new Cat P.D. and AB O.M. - is he coming over from there too, or from out of town, or maybe with in, may all depend on how the new G.M. thing plays out. What I don't understand is why would there be some kind of annoucment about a GM if it is not a done deal? And for so many to jump ship from one place to the other says something about both operations, where they came from and the possiblity of the new G.M. at where they are going. Go ahead talk amounst youselves.
 
Reporter - did you ever think that your "sources" USE you as the means to get rumors out there without getting their hands dirty....just a thought.
Also - if you take a look at the number of people who have left Townsquare in the past 5 months - (either on their own or fired) the bodies are piling up....there's a reason. From what I heard, 8 have left in the past 2 months...on their own.

Mr. Really? They contact ME for a reason. USE me? Use whatever word you want...Did 3 people not leave last week from TSM to ABC?? To me, that's truth, not rumor...I ran with it! They give me info, I go for it...Now, they know if they give me false info...There's a social media called Facebook and I'm not afraid to call them out...Last laugh is on them! I have NOTHING to lose...So, far I'm batting pretty well...Now, I need to find a way to get $$$$$ ;)
 
I give Reporter credit for trying to get the information out there....and he is usually fairly accurate....And no...I am not one of his sources...
 
Bottom line is sense Ausfeld's so called retirement from Townsquare Media, there has many people that have jumped ship, either let go or moved on by force and more to come. There is a reason more will leave as long as they can find somewhere to go. But with consolidation the field has narrowed considerbly making it harder to move.

Thanks Modulation...There are 3 people that give me info. Whether it's text on my cell, Facebook. They are currently in the radio business. They work for local stations. And...Most important, they are VERY reliable. They want to be anonymous and I respect that and they respect me.
 
Well according to some people I know, there is a staff meeting on monday, that will announce this rumor for sure. But we will see......
