Albany, GA TV tower demolition backfires

After last week's accident with WFCL-TV/Fox 31 Albany, GA's tower with an Army Chinook helicopter that killed gour soldiers, the WFXL tower was demolished...and it took down the tower of WALB-TV (10/NBC) as well. WALB's tower had been in place since 1967.The demolition occured Wednesday night at 6:30.WALB and WFXL, both owned by Raycom Media, are broadcasting form an emergency tower at low power from the WALB studios. The town of Doerun, where the towers are located, turned out in full force to watch the demolition. People in the town considered those towers landmarks rather than eyesores. No long range plans have been announced as of yet.

They will, in all probability, build one guyed mast on the same site as before at approxamately the same height as before.Wouldn't make sense to build two towers.
