B95’s drop in numbers is only .2(I get bored with B95’s usual music mix but like their Christmas tunes).
WGY and WFLY dropped twice what B95 did.(-.4).
Sad to see WTRY’s numbers go up rewarding their redundant playlist and cruel corporate management.
Magic 590 has 3 times the number of listeners as the rock format that occupies 100.9 now. But I guess, because the Magic listeners are not in the preferred demographic age group, they don’t matter. The funny thing is the young age group the consultants kiss up to don’t even listen to radio any more.
Disclaimer: I realize you can’t draw too many conclusions from these general overall ratings.

I still think it's time to put the Cat to sleep and put Magic on 104.9 and 590 at this point :)

As for Jamz, they're almost to a 6 share... and with no competition, I'd like to see 105.7 flip to Rhythmic :)

Wow what's up with PYX 106? They are up over 1 rating point. Look at STAR 1013 up over a 1 share, this is a first in over a couple of years.

Did PYX tweak their playlist perhaps? Not a listener myself... as for Star, maybe they want to escape from the "Continuous Christmas" on B95 :)

Please!! Keep Magic on 590! It comes in all the way to Westchester, out west to Little Falls. I like it! I do wish they would take the news at the top of the hour off the reverb.

The previous post advocated for Magic to expand to broadcast on 590 AM AND 104.9 FM not to eliminate 590 AM. If the rock format on 100.9 continues to flounder maybe the setup could be Magic 590 AM and 100.9 FM. Legends is gone(except for online) and TRY is vulnerable after Big Brother Clear Channel canned John Gabriel. If Magic could eliminate the sloppy slow standards and go all oldies it could clean up.

Chuckroast I second that.

Would add Chuck Taylor to mid-days and John Gabriel to Afternoon drive on Magic 590 AM & 104.9 FM.

Flounder??? They haven't even been on the air for a full book yet...and their first of two monthly trends would still be reflecting the discarded "Bridge" format...

And MY wish is to cut waaaay back on --- or totally re-do much of their reduntantly annoying jingle package! Do THAT... and the overall sound of the station is improved ten-fold!!

WE DON'T NEED ANYMORE OLDIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The "sloppy slow standards" is how the station is keeping its momentum. If it's ONLY oldies you want... there are other choices.

How might the theory about moving news and talk to FM apply to a format like Easy Listening?

All the experts in the biz who I've read feel that the FM sonics and the omni signal and the younger dial instantly will be some sort of Fountain Of Youth.

Then, seemingly without drawing a breath, they add that a soft-ac station like WDUV in Tampa gets terrific numbers but can't sell them. How this graduation/migration to FM is supposed to mean more money for aging things such as conservative talk, or all-news, sounds like a real contradiction. Can't have it both ways.

What would be the result of 590 and an FMer simulcasting in Albany?
