Louie Albertini joins WWBA AM1040 as VP/GM.
What happened to him at CBS?
Top rated stations to non-rated station(s).
Quite a leap in faith!

They sure have had a revolving door of people there in the last year or so....

You are right. General Managers over the past YEAR that I know of...

Brad James
Kelley McGrath
Ray Daugherty
Ted Wolff
Louis Albertini

There may have been a few more. Most are like Albertini -- let go by CC, CBS or Cox -- and stay employed in the radio business at a smaller company like Genesis. Unfortunately, the Genesis owner, Bruce Maduri, encounters their shortcomings AND the managers soon realize the working arrangements are worse than what they had at CC, CBS and Cox.

Gee.....must be a fun place to work!

What does this mean for 1010?

Albertini gone. Ochs gone. Metro folding. No more Karsnicki and Lighthall after Super Bowl, unless 1010 comes up with their salary..

Can 1010 survive?

What if the rumors about the Yankees not wanting to pay anymore to be on are true?

Call all of 1340's clients. "For less than the cost of a 60-second spot on some Tamapa radio stations..."

Seriously, I have been told that 1250 WHNZ is "printing money". They need to aggressively broker that puppy.

In a related item, per Tom Taylor's e-mail, Genesis just purchased WMGG-820, the former Spanish station La Mega, and, as of the time I'm writing this, is simulcasting 1040's programming on 820 [50kw day/1 kw night].

Good for them. Say what you will, they have not had any real signals to work with.

I'd expect part 2 of this to be that ESPN moves from 1470 to 1040.

Part 3 might be Rumba 100.7.
