Alchemy Bdcasting Sued

Bench trial in April of 2011? They will have flipped to Spanish programming by then.

Thanks, Bengals.

The docs are all locked anyway.

They just need to settle this out of court. Steve and the WDJO folks have better things to do. Who wants to waste time and energy on this crap.

The Defendant, aka Roger Kay, reads the Radio-Info.com Cincinnati board. Maybe he will post here on this thread about this lawsuit?
If I'm reading right, there was also a court hearing yesterday, July 19, on this lawsuit.

How is WDJO and Alchemy Broadcasting doing these days?

The pdf Court documents where visible yesterday but are are blocked today. I was able to view the court documents posted on this thread.
They are now locked because of "Sensitive information" here:

http://www.courtclerk.org/cpciv_index_summary.asp?ALCHEMY+BROADCASTING+LTD+DBA+WDJO+1480

More here:

Aren't cases like this all public record? Interesting they be locked after they were initially accessible to the public on line.

The person that did the auto show for WDJO, had the lawsuit against ALCHEMY BROADCASTING for $30,000 and the court ruled in favor of him.
He did not collect his money from ALCHEMY BROADCASTING, so he was due back in court on July 19.

I had heard that Rodger's brother and the sales manager left on their own.

Sounds like the owners are having problems keeping the boat afloat.

I saw the court docs and it looks like the court will put the station back into recievership to get Audio Visual the money owed.

The data from the 19th is blocked again. You can petition the court to seal the proceedings and transcripts. You'd cite the competitive and proprietary nature of the business. The court would not be unreasonable on this request.
From the title, it appeared to be the usual "show cause" type of appearance. The Plaintiff can quiz you and where you keep your assets. The Defendant would show up and tell the court why it cannot pay the judgement. Usually, a payment plan is set up, provided the Plaintiff wants to play nice. The report from 5/3 showed something like $400.00 in available funds?
I highly doubt that the court would throw this into receivership. I cannot figure out why you'd use the word "back". Alchemy has never been in receivership. Remember, radio licenses get a little tricky. You have to be careful as to how you transfer control.

This is a bummer deal. No doubt that folks like to listen to Oldies 1480. I hope that this can be worked out.

I am sure something can be worked out.
