Alexandria Arbs

Anybody had a peek at the Alexandria arbs just out for the spring book?

Curiosity kills. I saw a blurb on a local blog up there about 'QID tanking a third of its audience and falling outta first, 12+, but since the book's embargoed, there's no way of knowing what's true and what isn't.

What the blog said was the KLAA was #1, followed by KRRV (both country), then KZMZ (classic rock) and KQID (CHR) at #3 and KKST (urban) at #4 and closing in on the top spot.

Anyhow, anybody else got any more on the book? I obviously have a curious interest in seeing how things shook down after I left the market.

Peace!

Ron, do you know why the book is embargoed. It has been for seems like the past couple of years. I personally think its stupid, at least not to make public the 12+.

Somebody in the market was apparently out selling, using Arbitron figures without actually subscribing to them. At that time, only Clear Channel was subscribing, but Opus MIGHT have been, too.

A little birdy told me that KQID-FM was @ low power due to a lightning strike. Don't be so quick to gloat. and I have seen the Arbs. with my own eyes and know that ron is correct with the rankings!!!!

KBCE would've been my guess, too.

True, KQID was at 1,000 watts for 6 weeks. The backup transmitter actually covers the metro well enough, though, to not cause much of a listener disruption in Rapides (the larger of the metro's) parish, though, and actually into Avoyelles pretty well, too.

Hated when the big stick went down, but the only area we seemed to lose folks in was Natchitoches, and that's not part of the TSA.

for the entire book they were off the air more than they were on it seemed at times. I just want the record to reflect, that certian fromer employees, may think it was cause of there depature that ratings are down but the real reason is. they were at only 1,000 watts for the whole book due to a lightning strike!!

First of all, I'm insinuating no such thing. I asked about the numbers because I'm interested to see how the numbers looked in the market I just worked in. I'll be just as curious come the fall ratings period, as well.

Secondly, the station's tower was struck a few weeks BEFORE the ratings period began, and not "for the whole book." It's also gone down on numerous occasions while I was there, and over long periods of time, too. The backup transmitter MORE than covers the area of that metro where about 75-80% of the population is in the TSA.

Thirdly, turn spell-check on so you won't misspell c-e-r-t-a-i-n and d-e-p-a-r-t-u-r-e next time you post. Spell-check won't help you understand the proper uses of "cause" as opposed to "because," but it will at least cover spelling concerns.
