First of all, I would like to wish Shy the VERY BEST of luck. She is a great talent and a good friend. I hope things work out for her and her family.
I feel compelled to comment on a few things though:
What will mighty Mike Carson do without his " Ace in the Hole"!!! - A new co-host, with whom we have been talking to for the past week or two, is on the way.
He was scared before and now he must really be S***ing himself! - There was NEVER a point where I was "scared" and I am not "scared" now. What was/is there to be scared of? KRRV is a GREAT station but I was never scared. It's not a good feeling to go head to head with Hollywood. lol He's probably the best in the market and an all around good guy. There's no denying it. LA had AWESOME numbers and an AWESOME book. Will it stay that way? I hope so, but time will only tell. Will our ratings fall BECAUSE Shy is gone? No. This is NOT my first gig, nor my first morning show, or my first co-host to lose to the competition...I think anyone that has spent ANY time in radio KNOWS that ONE person does NOT make or break the station. Period!
I wonder how it feels to be asked everywhere you go, "where's Shy?" - Who cares? Is it going to be like that for the rest of my life? NO! Who cares????? When people ask, it just reminds me that we had a GOOD thing going. That, like everything else, came to an end. I hate that it happened, but it did and again, I sincerely wish her the best of luck.
LA 103.5 is a GOOD station. I am proud of the ENTIRE staff over here. We give away tons of $$$ and have the BEST listeners. AGAIN, losing Shy was a disappointment, but one person alone does not make a station succeed. It's the loyalty and dedication of the ENTIRE staff and the support of the management and the listeners that makes a station succeed.
Shy, good luck to you! I DO LOVE YOU GIRL!

It was a fun ride!
