Spring book for Alexandria came out today (tuesday).... those are actuals

Also KFAD is listed on R&R as Beautiful/EZ listening which is the format that Dave Grachen said was on it until Cenla pulled the plug in early June (and I had heard time I was there before).

Also, talking numbers, How long has KZMZ had the format shift in place to being a classic hits/Classic Rock formatted station (from Classic Rock only). I say Classic Hits due to the beatles and other genre artist ZMZ is now playing.
I'm asking cause I was wondering if the numbers they got were during this shift in playlist or what (as KEZP and KZMZ sound like they try to compete against each other IMO during the last air check I did in early July)

But good job on the #3 Ron... espcially considering numbers 1 and 2 are the dominant format around up there...

I didn't realize they come out this week, I don't know why, but I was thinking they come out next week. I see them now on radioandrecords.

Thanks for the heads up.

I think KRRV and KLAA are playing second place tag. KRRV, you're it.

Thanks, RF.

I didn't really post the stuff for kudos, attaboys, gloating or bragging, though...

Alexandria doesn't get much banter on the board, so I figured if nobody else was gonna put the stuff up, I'd do it.

Congrats Ron.

After firing the entire airstaff that gave them the highest ratings **ever**, it would appear the ops manager of the Alexandria. La Opus broadcasting cluster isn't quite the "radio gawd" he thinks he is.

I want to congratulate him on taking a 50,000 watt station that WAS in the number 1 position down to number 7 BEHIND a 5000 watt Jones network programmed satellite station.

Let's see, hmmm.... fire your #1 morning show replace with mediocre talent, then replace with a great team then fire them, fire your #1 afternoon drive, hire him back 1 year later to work 2 hours strictly as a liner card reader, fire your #1 night jock to replace with Lea.......

This individual is an example of "generic radio" in it's fullest. No jock personality allowed, micro-management at it's worst, and an almost violent narcissistic streak....

Speaking with some former employees of the cluster, he is also an example of how not to win friends and influence people.

I was just looking through the "break down" of the numbers and I think the bigger news is in the morning show numbers. KLAA 103 went up big in core females. It makes sense, my wife loves listening to that former weather guy. And I like listening to the chick, they make a good, upbeat team...

Now, remember....LA switched morning shows midway in the book. Granted, I haven't listened to them, but you can't completely credit them with those numbers. You would have to look at the week-by-week data. At least, I think you can do that.

Not sure exactly when date of switch occured but numbers were up nicely in second half, nearly non-existant in females prior...

Breakouts that detailed are in folks' hands already, eh? Arbitron's gotten much faster, lately, in getting their stuff out to radio companies or ad agencies who subscribe, apparently.

Very funny Niteweasel......no idea where you are getting your info from, unlesss you work at la103 and have access to the maximiser data from arbitron, and if that is true, it is pretty easy to figure out who you are. I just think you are full of it. Except for K-Buck the Opus group took a big hit this book.

I find it interesting that Niteweasel had no idea when the change occurred but new exactly when to break down the book to find the lone plus in the book. I can tell you it was May 16th at 10:15am. The only married members of the staff at KLAA are the GM and Rick Stevens. Rick has been a close friend for years and would never get involved in making a former staff member look like a failure.
I took the liberty of pulling La's numbers last book and they where tied for 2nd behind the AC among women 25-54. I notice that the core age is not mentioned and the increases are not mentioned. When I get time I will pull a pd package and find out just how strong they showed. You want to impress me run your add that states Arbitron rated "1 "The most listened to morning show in central Louisiana" Now spend your early morning hours reading some books on management and programming and leave the book interpretations to pro's.

Congrats to Ron and every other good radio person that saw success. Congrats to Chris and Jen on their uptick among core females. Congratulations to Late for a good call and Keep Rockin Yall.

I know you wanted to get somthing stated about Alex on here, but I also know personally you have listeners in the non traditional demos for the station also... You don't see many CHR/pops beat domanant formats in a market this size too often..

That's why I also brought up about KZMZ for... Most moan about the same 400 songs... 96.9 used to be a great AOR 2 years ago and I was a very faithful listener.. Last time I listened, I was gone in about 15 minutes... I'm just trying to figure how Same Old Tired S*** gets better ratings... Probably cause it's the only game around IMO... Another CC rocker in New Orleans found that out when in 6 months their ratings dropped close to 1.5 points after their morning show moved and people started hearing a real playlist on the new radio station that has variety in it... not stuff that in other markets is usually reserved for the oldies station....
