Cumulus was looking for a replacement for Barb "You're thinking, I'm Arby's" Smith/Buchanan, who was let go a few weeks back. Perhaps Alexis quit the Voicetrack Paradise and moved over to something she could actually do "live." If that's the case, I'd bet Alexis is an employee of Traffic.com now, since Barb was, and is farmed out to KTCK.

Good luck finding one. You surf for "Alexis Smith" (AllAccess gives that as her full name,) and you get the late actress who played Lady Jessica Montfort on "Dallas" (Clayton Farlow's diabolical sister who gagged Miss Ellie and put her in the trunk of her car, c. 1983.)miked5551 said:

Alexis is a great girl and I am happy to see/hear she is on "live" again.
So why was Barb Smith let go from The Ticket?
Well, as Mike mentioned, if "You're thinking I'm Arby's" wasn't enough, I've got a source inside the "Mothership" that said there was a bunch of stuff- missing reports, having her cell phone ring during a RECORDED report, etc.
My guess is that with the D&M show doing so well in AM Drive (they were #1 M25-54 with a TEN share last book, and they're top 3 IIRC P25-54) that the bosses lost patience with subpar performance and pressured Traffic Pulse to get them someone different.
Add in that I've heard her on i93, and Barb's KVIL background may have played a part. If you want to be a teen/20's station do you want someone who was on the cougar's radio station...
