Alice Morphs To Adult CHR

Alice @ 97-3 has shifted from a very hot AC and added CHR tunes. They've added "Crazy In Love" by Beyonce. Any other urban tunes Alice plays now? We'd expect Alice a CHR soon.

I heard Outkast's "I like the Way You Move"

This was also on the hot AC charts, BTW.

This is one of the oddest things I've seen lately. Alice seems to have turned into a completely different radio station -- from its old "Lilith" sound a while back to this new, brighter, upbeat, hit-infused sound, and it isn't causing too much of a stir around here.

Heard two Gwen Stefani songs within 75 minutes, and two of Madonna's within 90 minutes on Saturday, however, plus the ubiquitous Sarah McLachlin. They're still very female-friendly.

Several issues: No ratings the past 3 years outside of AM drive, and those have slipped. Hot or Modern AC has lost its way. The music isn't as clearly defined or as "hot" as it was 2 years ago. Infinity has several stations with format and ratings problems and Alice is a big concern. That's why the corporate programmer out of St. Louis is calling the shots. Repositioning Alice was probably part of the plan leading up to a Jack format on one of their other stations. Now what?
