"Alice's Attic" Debuts on The Drive

WDRV picks up the syndicated offering from Superadio Networks hosted by Alice Cooper for nights 7PM-Midnight.
(One feature discontinued is the Bob Stroud "10 at 10" evening replay.)

"WDRV Brand & Content Director Keith Hastings statrs, “We’re in the business of creating great content to wrap around great music, so it makes great sense to have one of rock’s greatest creators grab a mic and share his stories. Alice Cooper does rock radio like few of his peers can, with a twisted sense of humor and the intrigue of a classic rock musician. Superadio makes it easy to bring the well produced and compelling show “Alice’s Attic” to your station and raise the game for the entire market.”"

Alice started this new show after his syndication deal with United Stations Radio Network ended in Sept. 2023:

I'm still in shock I suppose. A market #3 station should not be doing this. I'm an Alice fan, but his new show should be airing on WXRD (X-Rock 103.9 - Lowell, IN), or a similar, smaller 'burb stick. Hubbard must be on a budget cut again. If I were a certain "Root" personality, I would get out of there before Hubbard decimates what's left of WDRV. Then we will be faced with - 97.1, HE-FM!

Alice Cooper's show is good. It's an actual show with insightful or witty commentary about the artists played as opposed to random voice tracks with no music oriented commentary (*cough* Greg Beharrell *cough*).

I liked Alice's prior show and am happy to see him return to radio.

I've listened to the start of "Alice's Attic with Alice Cooper" on my way home from work weeknights on 97.1 FM The Drive. It is a departure from what The Drive had been airing in the 7P-Midnight (CT) time slot in recent months. In addition to blending in songs on The Drive's own playlist, I have heard some songs such as Metallica's "One", Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box" & Traffic's "Rock n' Roll Stew" that aren't on The Drive's normal playlist. Besides, Cooper has some very interesting rock & roll stories of his own.

It's definitely a good show, and a great addition to WDRV.
