"Alice's Restaurant Massacree" - Keeping the tradition..

Always fun this time of year to follow which rock based formatted stations do it up right and dust off the annual playing of "Alice's Restaurant Massacree". Most rockers, classic rockers, and the "Triple A-sters" tend to do it up right, but there is always those few that were voiced tracked somewhat in advance, that let the tradition fall through the cracks.. Enjoy the turkey, football, and the heaping doses of Arlo Guthrie on the "Thankful Day". Let us know who did or did not partake !

Bumping this to track the many occurrences of "Alice" later today. I suspect the Blimp, the Shark, and WXEX at the least will spin it around noon time.

Just heard the Arlo on 107.7 The Pulse in Concord / Manchester, a spoken word, talk and sports format no less ! Very cool, Happy Thanksgiving. :D

We aired it at about 10 this morning at the beginning of Lori D's show cause as she put it....she wanted to "change it up a little this year so it didn't seen like everyone was a copy of everyone else"....and we think she's on to something there.

Happy Thanksgiving to all our real radio friends here on this board!

My wife got to see Arlo perform this once.
We decided it was time for our children to be aware of this song.
I put it in the playlist for W-nuthin-nuthin-nuthin, and we sat both kids (9 and 14 ) down in the living room,
and we all listened on the huge 1936 Philco 116-X.

As usual, we have played it in every daypart so far at WKIT, and my turn is coming up at 8P. The real question is, have you played Adam Sandler's Thanksgiving song today? Break out the baby oil!!
