Alice's Restaurant.. The Kudos and the Clueless in VT/NH

Hearing Alice's Restaurant on Thanksgiving is a great tradition. Here's a list of the stations that get the kudos for keeping up with tradition. Also is a list of the clueless turkey's that should have played Alice's Restaurant but either are clueless, or probably did not get a written permission slip from the corporate home office.

The Kudos..
WNCS/ The Point - Burlington
Champ 101.3/102.1 - Burlington / Randolph
WCLX 102.9 Westport NY
WEBK 105.3 Rutland
WEQX 102.7 Manchester
WAMC - Northeast Public Radio..

The Clueless So Called Classic Rockers..
106.7 WIZN Burlington
106.1 WHDQ Claremont
101.5 WEXP Rutland
106.5 WPYX Albany

In Maine I heard both WKIT Bangor (at 11am-the "redux" version) and WBLM (at the usual noon hour) play it.

I think clueless is a little harsh to decribe the stations that didn't play it. Alice's Restaurant is not the State of the Union-no need to overwhelm the airwaves with the same song-not everyone likes it/wants to hear it. 'Specially if someone else in the market already played it.

KUDOS to those stations who DIDN'T play it, so we had other CHOICES to listen to if we didnt want to hear it again... Clueless, hardly.

and WAMC will never get Kudos for anything in my book.

Add to the list of stations that played "A-R" on Thanksgiving...

Perhaps calling those classic rock stations that did not partake in A/R was a bit harsh. But the Wizard, and the combo "Q 1 Oh Fox" both played A/R at one time.

My apologies for leaving out the soon to be 75 years old, the station you can't hear it at night in 7 miles west in Hubbardton (VT) , but you can 700 miles east in Halifax.. Nova Scotia that is.. The Great 138.. WSYB and 3WT

By the way, non-comm. station WOMR in Provincetown, MA had Alice Brock herself
in yesterday as part of a fundraiser. "Meanwhile, Alice--remember Alice?
This is a song about Alice (laughter)..." :)

I heard "Alice's Restaurant" on WHDQ approx. 1130 on Thanksgiving morning on my way to work.
Please aim before you fire.

We played it every year when I was there, sometimes even more than once a day. I don't know about years past. Saw Arlo perform the song at the Claremont Opera House back in '01, great show! Just kinda strange hearing it in the middle of summer. And yes, he tacks on some extra verses for good measure.
