Alice's Restaurant

Newer, younger, more naive MD's probably don't know it. Same with the WKRP turkey drop skit.

Yep. We did that at WSHE!

Because nobody under the age of 40 probably knows what it is. Makes sense on the Eagle or Q105 but I couldn't get my family to sit through more than 5 minutes of it before they lost interest yesterday when I tried to play it at the house (only my 55+ father in law was into it). Guess there is a fine line between classic and old & unrelatable.

In a few years, this song will be ready for The Dove. ;D

F word! Now I have got to go google Alice and her restaurant to figure out just what you guys are talking about. I hate it when classic radio talk goes over my head! By the way, I am 45 so I am guessing I should know what you are talking about. But, I don't.

I remember in the late 80's every local station would play Alice's Restaurant at noon. What happened to a holiday tradition?

Still going on at noncom WXPN in Philadelphia. Maybe you can stream it next year.
