Is it just me or is Alicia B of Free FM also doing traffic under a different name on KTAR
 
Yes, I know Alicia works for Metro on the weekends doing traffic for KTAR.
Maybe she'll be at Metro more from now on since the format change at 101.5.
I guess we'll see where everyone ends up.
 
So you're saying maybe we can hear Alicia B "The Traffic Chick" on the air at KTAR. That would be Verrry Niice. :eek: What about Milo?
 
Bruce Gary? Gary Bruce? I don't know, but either way it's probably
a nom-de-traffic.

Don't most of the off-peak hours KT'R trafficmeisters use "air names"
as they may also appear on other (non-Bonneville) stations?

And speaking of traffic-and-weather-together...a closed circuit for KT'R
PD Russ: during the live off-peak traffic/WX inserts, why doesn't
Bruce/Gary/et al give the current temperature? If this keeps up I'll be
forced to give you the very-undesired Royal Norman Canned Weather Award. ::)
 
first, i think it's strange that ktar shares traffic reporters with every other station in town.

second, it's funny to hear the metro traffic reporters on ktar using fake names after hearing them on other stations just minutes before, using the name they've been using for years.

What's even funnier is that KTAR would be so eager and cheap to have the same people who actually manage to sound bad on the 1310s and 1480s of the world doing their traffic.

Indeed. She uses the name Lauren Kelley on KTAR... this has been going on for about a year or so... she also does weather, badly I might add.
 
I think you are confusing Alicia B with Lauren Kelly and Milo. Get your people straight. I think Alicia B is wonderful. Milo needs some work. PK Files on Starquest Challenge sound better than him...
 
Sorry to 'burst some bubbles,' but Alicia B. is not Lauren Kelly on KTAR. I have worked with them both in the past and despite sounding similar, they are two very different people. In Lauren Kelly's defense, she does both traffic AND WEATHER very well. In fact, her reports sound very much like those of every other Metro/KTAR reporter. I suppose it would be difficult to 'screw up,' considering they are given a script by KTAR's PD. I wish them both the best of luck in their radio career and hope to hear Alicia B. back on the air soon.
And please, KMGX, get your facts straight before you start 'flapping your gums' over the Phoenix radio boards. I, as I'm sure are others, am tired of reading your negative posts.

A first time poster commenting on my posts and getting facts straight holds little credibility with me. This is an internet message board devoted to the radio industry, if you don't like realistic views regarding the business I suggest you make that your one and only post (at least under that name). They are the same person, but it's not a big deal if you want to say they're not for whatever reason.

Now, run along and pick a fight with someone else.

Dave Teller is Dave Teller and there is no mistaking that guy for anyone else! Dave rocks! And yes it is standard Metro policy to change your name with the station.

you're right, of course it's lee powell.

i got my thoughts crossed. i was going to make comment about dave teller vs dave fraiser, but i won't.

but i will comment on the fact that ktar doesn't do extended traffice during ankarlo and mcmahon when there is traffic. but they do extended traffic 7p - midnight when there isn't much traffic. i don't get it. ?

alicia is still lauren though.
